The Iron Man is a great iron structure representing the art of sculpture at its finest and is found inside the front entrance of O’Brien Park on the Calder Highway at the centre of town.

ABOUT

Nullawil, a small yet charismatic town of Southern Mallee Victoria, is known as home of ‘The Iron Man’ by locals and travellers alike. "Nulla" meaning killing stick and "Wil" derived from aboriginal term "willock" meaning Galah.

Located approximately midway between Melbourne and Mildura, and with a population of 237 (2006 census for Nullawil and District), the town makes for a pleasant resting stop from the tedious Calder Highway, with its friendly locals, charming general store, two peaceful parks, public facilities and petrol at Nullawil Motors.

The surrounding area of Nullawil flaunts a rural landscape in which wheat, barley, oats wool and fat lambs are produced. There are also a number of bushland remnants and wildlife corridors, including Tyrrell Creek, Chalk Tank Reserve and Uttiwillock Reserve, providing habitat for an array of native Mallee and Wimmera Mallee fauna and flora. In recent years, paddocks of canola, chick peas, field peas and lentils have also been scattered across this unique Southern Mallee landscape.
